Those who maintain that declaring yourself a female is nonsense and there's no such thing as a sex change are roundly attacked as "transphobic" and subjected to vicious abuse and hatred.
Male prisoners are declaring themselves female and being transferred to female prisons where quite often they sexually abuse female prisoners.
It's extraordinary that in 2026 women have to protect themselves against men who declare they're female and insist on invading female spaces like women's refuges and women's sports events.
When I was young, transsexuals, as they were called then, never believed they were real women, and knew they were merely passing as women. And other people were willing to treat them as women as long as they kept a low profile. They didn't make the sort of bizarre demands they're making now and didn't encroach on women's facilities and activities.
I wonder how long this insistence on sex changes will go on before people finally come to their senses and revert to reality.

I'm still laughing at Ricky Gervai's reply. Someone said, "What if a transgender man in a women's space uses his penis on somebody?" His snarled reply: "You mean uses "her" penis, you bigot!"
ReplyDeleteAs for how long will this go on, I guess the pendulum is swinging at last, because I saw a Youtube thingy (a news story?) where people were taking the side of JK Rowling.
Say, she has long had an essay for adults on her web site, explaining why she thinks women should have safe spaces, which the woke justice types could never be bothered to read.
Sean: I follow J K Rowling eagerly, she's doing a great job of squashing all the nonsense. Of course that means she gets torrents of abuse, death threats etc etc.
DeleteThe great majority of people have already come to their senses, and probably never left them. They were just intimidated into silence by the name-calling and threats of retribution if they dared to openly express the belief that 2+2=4. Rowling, a few other courageous people, and the supreme court ruling have steadily dispelled the fear.
ReplyDeleteInfidel: That's it, so many people have been intimidated into keeping their mouths shut by the sheer viciousness of the trans activists.
DeleteI blame the mental health professionals who support and validate this nonsense.
ReplyDeleteBijoux: Indeed. How did they ever decide that irreversible medical treatment was a more appropriate response to gender dysphoria than psychotherapy?
DeleteNick, I do not agree and will make no comment. J.K.Rowling is a fairy tale
ReplyDeletewriter ??? and should shut up.
Hannah
Hannah: I know, it's an incredibly controversial issue, and I welcome all opinions and open-minded debate.
DeleteWhy would being a writer make her less entitled to express an opinion than anyone else is?
DeleteAs Infidel said, what have Hogwarts and Harry Potter got to do with expressing an opinion?
DeleteFrom which century do you all come ?
DeleteAnonymous: Is that meant to be some kind of argument? Next you'll be saying I'm "on the wrong side of history". Or maybe I'm "stuck in the dark ages".
DeleteWhen they have no argument, no evidence, no logic, or anything else to support their position, an implicit and nebulous insult is the best they can manage.
DeleteInfidel: There's a constant demand for "trans rights" but nowhere are these supposed rights actually specified. They're a complete mystery.
DeleteI, like Hannah, disagree and will make no further comment,
ReplyDeleteSandra: As I said to Hannah, I welcome all opinions, even if I disagree with them.
DeleteDave's sister once commented that if a person in the process of becoming transgendered was using a woman's restroom, their feet should at least point the right way.
ReplyDeletePrisoners should not be allowed to change prisons until they have successfully completed the surgery when becoming transgendered.
For me, that's the real test of how serious a person is--no surgery, no change.
Linda
Linda: I like the feet in the toilet test. I don't agree that genital surgery turns someone into a woman. But it's certainly a serious undertaking.
DeleteIt's perfectly simple. Men in men's facilities (including prisons), women in women's facilities, just as we always did it until this silly fad came along. If a man "identifies as" a woman or a hammer-headed shark or whatever, that makes no difference to the fact that he's a man. And a man getting his dick cut off doesn't make him a woman, it makes him a man with no dick. There's no need to introduce all these ridiculous complications and word-games into something completely clear and straightforward.
ReplyDeleteInfidel: Well said. I really don't understand how anyone can believe that surgery and hormones can make you change sex.
DeleteSexuality starts in the brain and not in the dick. You seem all to be quite old guys no more having sex I suppose.
DeleteAnonymous: I fail to see how your comment relates to my post.
DeleteJust as in the case above, they use an insult because they don't have anything substantive to say.
DeleteInfidel: True. And the insults come thick and fast.
DeleteMeanwhile, actual women have been denied life-saving HRT for the past 25 years due to one faulty study while men who want to be women are given estrogen. Obviously, we are still living in a male-centric society, and our medical system is ass-backwards. Go through 40 years of painful periods, unmedicated childbirth, and then the joys of menopause and then come tell me you're a woman.
ReplyDeleteBijoux: Indeed, we're still in a male-centric society, and the way wannabe women are indulged by professionals who should know better is shocking. Meanwhile women with serious and genuinely female conditions often can't get the medical treatment they need.
DeleteThe fact that "transwomen" are prioritized over real women is further evidence that everyone knows they're really men.
DeleteInfidel: And as someone says, if transwomen are women then women are transwomen, which is obvious nonsense.
DeleteThat's just insanity.
ReplyDeleteMary: But some people still think that the idea of a biological female is insanity.
DeleteNick, why are you all so obsessed about itransgender persons ? Are you threatened. in your daily life ? In Germany there are about 0,5 percent transgender and there are discussions only initiated by the extreme right wing. I feel ok with all kind of people . The person counts and his choice should be respected.
ReplyDeleteHannah
Hannah: I'm not obsessed. I've posted about transgender twice in the last three years. I certainly don't feel threatened by them. Why would I? There are only a handful in Northern Ireland. And there is widespread discussion on the subject among all political persuasions.
DeleteNick , I remember very well that you posted already about transgender, that's why I'm surprised that you focuse again on the same subject. Wish you and Jenny a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteHannah
Hannah: I was interested in the widespread rejection of the Supreme Court judgment, as if the law can be casually disregarded.
DeleteIt seems to me that if there is extensive discussion then something psychological is going on. Perhaps we are going through liberating our minorities one by one. Of course, a society is like parents: when a child comes out of the closet, it takes discussion, reflection and time in order to change.
ReplyDeleteIn the US, the trans issue is part of "culture wars," the wars that serve society to escape from taking mass action on hard, heavy issues. But it's only a semi-conscious escape, as people as a whole aren't "consciousness raised." It's like how no media, only individuals, say that continuous craziness from the White House serves to prevent people acting together to get the Epstein files released.
I wish I knew a time traveler from the future—or a psychologist—so I could ask what's going on.
Sean: Indeed, the trans controversy deflects energies from the really important issues like housing and health. As I said, when I was young transsexuals were discreetly accommodated without all the present hysteria and ridiculous demands.
DeleteWell. I am sort of taken aback by this. You do know that some people are born with innate differences. They don't "choose" to be this way. They are born this way. To deny them the right to be themselves because it makes others uncomfortable is no different than any other prejudice/bias. They are harming you. They aren't the predators. Believe me when I say my dealings with aggressive males have always been men who identify themselves as male. "Discreetly accommodated". Nick really? They are people. They don't need discrete accommodation. They deserve to be who they are. I was going to stay quiet but the comments have moved me to speak. Will it make a difference? No. But I feel it's important to say.
ReplyDelete*They aren't harming you* important word, aren't.
DeleteA big thank to you Sandra.
DeleteHannah
Sandra: All I can say is that we have totally different viewpoints and there seems to be no way of reconciling them. I know a lot about gender dysphoria and I'm also aware of feminist criticism of trans ideology, which it seems to me is indeed harming women in all sorts of ways. But I hope this difference of opinion doesn't mean I'm no longer welcome on your blog.
DeleteOf course you are welcome. I also wanted to point out that there are trans men. The topic always seems to be about the women.
DeleteSandra: That's because trans men don't oppress the opposite sex.
DeleteWow, Nick, you really picked a hot topic here and reading it and the comments was most interesting. It's obvious, some people feel very strongly on this topic.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice: Because people feel so strongly they aren't prepared to discuss their opinions and it's impossible to reach some kind of common ground.
